Plans and implements activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials. Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions. Responsibilities: Execute strategic plans to meet goals, including supply base on-time delivery performance, inventory turns, optimize transportation spend, and excess and obsolete reduction. Develop and implement the best practices in supply management system (supply base management, and inventory management). Lead the materials planning activities to support demand management Continually work to improve quality, delivery and costs. Assure that problems relating to delivery, quality or pricing are promptly conveyed to the vendor and resolved in a timely manner per standard procedures. Resolve discrepancy problems with Accounts Payable in a timely manner Lead the proper management of Annual inventory plan, MRP reports, replenishment systems, stock status reports, material variance reports, customer order shortage report and RTV practice. Aggressively reduce costs and improve flexible replenishment systems. Ensure proper materials planning transition with NPD team to support strategic and tactical projects Provide leadership to materials planners. Work as a true team player, willing to perform tasks outside of the day-to-day operations environment. Ensure root cause identification and implement effective corrective actions for material issues Drive consistent operation efficiency improvements utilizing lean techniques Observes current business trends on Sales, Inventory, and Customer Service. Provides maintenance to SOX Accesses Controls for Oracle responsibilities related to Planning activities WW. Implements, updates, and documents business procedures using ISO 9001 standards. Assesses and trains personnel for promotion to cross-functional operations. Awareness of the environmental management syste.
Experiencia y requisitos
Bachelor degree in any of the following areas: Business administration, industrial engineering, information systems or related. At least 10 years experience in purchasing, sourcing, materials management, and material handling operations. 3-5 years supervising people. Strong people management and interpersonal communication skills. A proven track record of cost savings, inventory turns improvement, and implementation of modern purchasing/planning approaches (including JIT, Kanban, Vendor Managed Inventory and Lean Manufacturing). Ability to learn quickly and willingness to take on new challenges, Skilled in PC applications and ERP systems experience, Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, Fluent in both English and Spanish. Skillful managing sense of urgency Team oriented individual. Desired qualifications: Masters degree in Business or Supply Chain. APICS certification (CPIM). Experience working with engineering changes and new products projects. Experience in international sourcing. ERP Oracle Manufacturing experience. Lean manufacturing or Lean six sigma experience. Previous experience in MTS, MTO, ATO, and ETO manufacturing environment. Computational knowledge: Intermediate level with computer functions, including working in a Windows environment with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Strong knowledge in ERP (Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards).
